Godzilla Is A Scrapper

Godzilla has been known as the “King of Monsters” in most circles. Here is a picture from the first Godzilla movie.

The First Godzilla

We have not had enough of Godzilla as he returns in the latest movie GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS – – – now playing at Cineplex cinemas in Canada. A summer blockbuster (July,  2019).  One of the most recognizable movie icons in history.
Take a look at the trailer.

There is no rival for Godzilla except maybe King Kong. Yes, a few movies were made to show us what would happen if ever these two monsters would meet.  Godzilla the gigantic lizard has stomped his way through many cities across the globe, including Tokyo. His adversaries are many lizard-like monsters in our solar system and beyond.

RECYCLE (RE-PURPOSE) GODZILLA

Considering how much rubble and debris Godzilla has caused over the years, it only makes sense that a street artist has created a replica of Godzilla using old tires, empty spray cans, and other assorted scrap metal. It’s rather impressive, looking.

I have seen Godzilla in the playground  (see below).  It’s great to know that these old tires are put to good use. We have all heard of rock climbing, how about rubber climbing?

Nishi-Rokugo Park (Tire Park), Japan

The kids really have fun with these monstrosities. They learn about Godzilla and learn new applications for used tires and the value of recycling. Recycling is a good message to share with all of us. See how we can have fun with scrap sculptures. Is it an obsession? For some of us it is true.

MINNESOTA GODZILLA

Minnesota Godzilla

You will have to go to Minnesota to see this sculpture of Godzilla (above), made by Dale Lewis, a retired machinest and electrician. Dale says he is an obsessed scrap metal artist. Dale used stainless steel scrap metal for his master piece. Dale Lewis’s Godzilla was the People’s Choice Award winner in 2015

Used Aerosol Cans!

A work in progress. Godzilla is very colorful in flaming blue and orange. Almost done. The artist combined scrap metal with many aerosol cans. How clever!  A menacing grin tops off this monster.

HOME OF GODZILLA-JAPAN

Considering that the first siting of Godzilla was in Japan, monuments in his image is only fitting!  That mighty scrapper.  He’s always getting into trouble. Godzilla will always be in our hearts and memories forever. Long live Godzilla!
